With the NextEnergy app, you can easily connect your solar panels and get immediate insight into your own energy production. This way, you not only see how much you generate but also what it means for you.
Whether or not you have an energy contract with NextEnergy, you can always connect your solar panels to gain insight into your production.
Who is this for?
This feature is for anyone with solar panels who wants more control over their energy. Even if you don’t have an energy contract with NextEnergy, you can still use the insights into your solar production. In that case, you will not receive smart control or additional services like ZonVast.
To connect your solar panels, you do need a compatible inverter. At this time, we support, among others, Growatt inverters. Do you use Growatt? Then you also need a ShineWiLan-X2 data logger.
We are working hard to add support for other inverters as well!
How to connect your solar panels
Connecting your solar panels is easy in the app:
Go to Devices and choose Add a new device, then Solar panels.
We will then guide you step-by-step through the process:
Step 1: Choose the brand of your inverter
Select the brand of the inverter connected to your solar panels.
You will then be redirected to the manufacturer’s platform to securely log in and grant permission to share your data.
Step 2: Choose your solar system
After logging in, select the correct solar system. This way, we know exactly which installation to link to your account.
Step 3: Confirmation
Did everything go well? Your solar panels will then be automatically connected.
You will immediately receive confirmation in the app and can start viewing your energy production right away.
Immediate insight into your energy production
After connecting, you will immediately gain insight into what your solar panels are producing. In the app, you can see:
- Your current production and status
- Daily insights from the moment of connection
- Total production per day
You can find this information on the Usage page under Smart Home. This way, you always have an up-to-date view of your own energy.
What does this mean for your energy feed-in?
The energy you do not use yourself is automatically fed back into the grid. With NextEnergy, you pay no feed-in fees, as the procurement fee is no longer charged.
Even better: you receive a solar bonus of 50% on every kWh you feed back. This bonus is calculated based on the market price, without extra procurement fees. This way, you get even more out of your own generated energy.
Managing your installation
In the app, you can also view and manage the technical details of your solar panels. Think of the brand and model of your inverter, the serial number, and the number of panels (which you can enter yourself).
Want to disconnect your solar panels? You can easily do this from the same place. Please note that after disconnecting, you will no longer have insight into your production and the data connection will be terminated.
