Price Composition in the App
It's wise to carefully dissect the prices shown in the NextEnergy app to get a clear understanding of the total cost composition. Within the displayed prices, there are several key components: VAT (21%), energy tax (€0.073 per kWh and €0.49 per m3 of gas), and the purchase fee (€0.02 per kWh and €0.11 per m3 of gas). Fortunately, the reduction of energy tax is also applied, meaning that you pay net less per kWh and m3 of gas than the total tax amount.
Tax Reduction per Electricity Connection
On the website of the Dutch government, under the section "Tax Reduction per Electricity Connection," you can find an overview of the annual energy tax relief. This reduction ensures that you pay net less for your energy consumption.
Explanation of Price Terms in the App
-
Market Price: This is the market price at which NextEnergy purchases energy on the European energy market, excluding VAT.
-
Market Price+: This price includes the purchase fee, energy tax (in 2024 €0.13 per kWh of electricity and €0.70 per m3 of gas), and VAT (21%) on top of the market price.
-
All-in Price: The all-in price encompasses all components of the Market Price+, including network operator costs and subscription fees. The energy tax reduction is subtracted from this price to arrive at the final all-in price.
This structured approach in the NextEnergy app ensures transparency and allows consumers to fully understand the breakdown of their energy costs, promoting a more informed and conscious use of energy.
