What do you need?
- You have an active NextEnergy electricity contract.
- The latest version of the NextEnergy app.
- You have a fully electric or hybrid car.
- You can charge your car at home.
-
Your car brand is supported in the app.
We currently support, among others: Audi, BMW, BYD, Cupra, Dacia, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar, Jeep, Kia, Land Rover, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes, MG, Nissan, Opel, Polestar, Porsche, Renault, Rivian, SEAT, Skoda, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo, and XPENG.
Connect car:
- Open the NextEnergy app.
- Go to Devices.
- Choose Add new device and select Car.
- Follow the instructions about smart charging and give permission.
- Choose your car brand and log in with your car brand account. You will be temporarily redirected to the Enode environment for this.
- Confirm the car that was found.
- Set your charging preferences.
- After confirmation, your car is connected and you can use smart charging.
Which charging preferences can I set?
- Departure time: when should your car be ready? You can set this for each day.
- Battery reserve: we charge directly up to this percentage, without waiting for inexpensive hours.
- Charge to: what percentage should your car be charged to before departure?
If you skip this step, we use 7:00 AM as the departure time, 20% as the battery reserve, and 80% as the charging limit by default. For Mercedes, the battery reserve is always 50%; this is a Mercedes setting that we cannot adjust.
Where can I find my charging sessions and costs?
After connecting, you can view your charging sessions in the app. You can see, among other things, the start time, the number of kWh charged, the costs, and the savings. The option to download a monthly cost overview is not yet available as of October 1. We expect to add this feature before November 1, 2026.
Old Jedlix sessions will remain temporarily visible through the old Jedlix car under Devices. This history will remain available until January 1, 2027.
I see a warning or notification in the app. What does this mean?
Sometimes action is required to continue using smart charging. For example, you may need to log in to your car brand account again, give permission again, or adjust a setting in the car or your car brand’s app. Follow the instructions in the NextEnergy app.
