As indicated in the general terms and conditions, a credit check is conducted with every new registration. This check is carried out by a specialized company, resulting in a total score. If this total score falls below a certain threshold, NextEnergy receives a signal indicating potential payment issues with this registration.
Because we purchase energy for our customers daily, we rely on timely payments from our customers. In case of potential payment issues, we then request a security deposit from the customer. This deposit provides us with confidence that payment will be made for the energy.
Why is the security deposit necessary?
The security deposit is necessary to instill confidence in NextEnergy that there won't be payment issues when purchasing energy for this registration.
Can the deposit be used for the payment of the upcoming month?
No, the security deposit is indeed a deposit that is refunded only at the end of the contract.
How and when will the security deposit be refunded?
At the end of the contract, the security deposit will be refunded to the customer. Depending on the outstanding energy bill at the end of the contract, this deposit can be used for payment.
What if I don't want to pay the security deposit?
We understand that not everyone can or wants to pay the security deposit. Unfortunately, we depend on this payment to purchase energy. If the security deposit is not paid, the registration will not be completed.
Where can I view the data that determines my score?
For privacy reasons, we do not have insight into how the score is determined. You can request access to your data here.
