With a fixed contract, as a customer, you pay a fixed energy rate per month. This rate is fixed for a certain number of years, regardless of the fluctuations in the energy market. With a variable energy contract, you also pay a fixed energy rate per month, but the rate may vary from month to month. The energy supplier has the freedom to adjust the energy rate based on the energy market each month with a variable contract. A variable energy contract is established for an indefinite period, and as a customer, you can terminate it at any time.
In contrast to variable and fixed contracts, a dynamic energy contract does not involve a fixed monthly energy rate. You pay the current electricity and gas prices, consuming gas and electricity at market prices. These prices fluctuate hourly for electricity and daily for gas. Generally, market prices are significantly below the fixed rates of a fixed or variable contract.
