To start with smart charging, follow these steps:
Linking your car:
- Navigate to the 'Charging' screen in the NextEnergy app.
- Press the button to add a device.
- Select the brand, model, and version of your car.
- Press 'Connect Car' and confirm the information.
- Log in with your car manufacturer account.
Viewing charging sessions:
Once your car is linked, it will appear in the overview in the NextEnergy app. Press on your car to view your charging history. For a recent charging session, you'll see details such as:
- Start and end battery levels.
- Charging session costs.
- Savings achieved with smart charging.
- Charged kWh per hour.
Note: This screen only displays charging sessions done at home since linking your car. Sessions before linking or those done away from home will not be shown.
Activating smart charging:
After linking your car and/or charging station, smart charging will be automatically enabled. If you wish to disable and later re-enable it, follow these steps:
- Press on your linked car in the 'Charging' screen of the NextEnergy app.
- Enable smart charging in your car's overview.
- Set a direct charging percentage (the level your car charges directly to, useful for unexpected needs).
- Set a smart charging percentage (the level your car charges smartly to).
For instance, if you set it to 40-90%, your car will charge rapidly to 40% and then switch to smart charging until reaching 90%.
